The fruit of the Vignola cherries has a medium size and a rounded shape. It has a very thin skin, particularly shiny with a color tending towards black when the fruit is fully ripe. The pulp has a very tender and generally juicy texture with a very intense red colour. The flavor of the cherries is sweet with a slight hint of acidity. The core has an average size with a slightly flattened spherical shape. The flowering of the Vignola cherry normally occurs in the period between the end of March and the beginning of April. However, the Vignola cherry needs adequate pollinators since it is self-incompatible, therefore it would be advisable to place hives near the orchards.
