The late mandarin, otherwise called marzuddu, i.e. ripening in March as opposed to the primintivu variety, i.e. early, owes its name to the Ciaculli district of Palermo, where it is grown. The green, scented leaves vary in shape from ovate-oblong to ovate-lanceolate. The Late Mandarin: it is mainly used in the preparation of jams, rosolio, honey and more.
